The International Day Of Education As Nigeria joined the international community to mark the International Day of Education – celebrated this year on the 24th of January 2024, National Library Kaduna State Branch, has organised a sensitation workshop for schools in Kaduna State to highlighting the importance of education for all.
In 2018, the United Nations General Assembly declared January 24th as the International Day of Education, highlighting the importance of education for all.
In her speech, the head Of Kaduna branch Of National Library, Mrs. Martina Egwuibe, said International Education day is celebrated every year to recognize the significant role that education plays in global peace and development. It also provides an opportunity to acknowledge the valuable contributions of students in promoting quality and inclusive education.
According to her, “National Library Kaduna branch we recognize that the contributions of young people are often overlooked. Therefore, on this International Day of Education, we want to shine a light on the efforts of young changemakers in the field of education”
“These changemakers are driving change in education through educational research, sustainable school programs, human capital development, creating equitable, inclusive learning systems”
She explained that National Library kaduna has been doing a lot in celebrating any International Day to organize programs in rural and urban areas to make sure that people are enlighten on what is happening, so we’re alot to educate people” she said.
