The National Library Kaduna branch has donated learning materials to two schools in Kaduna State, as part Commemoration Of “World Read Aloud Day “
The beneficiaries are Betty Queen International School and Mufnaj International School all in Kaduna State.

The donation was made by head of Branch National Library, Kaduna, Mrs. Egwuibe Martina, Wednesday.
The program was organised by National Library Kaduna to Commemorate the International “Read Aloud Day” set aside by UNESCO stipulations for inclusive quality education on the 7th of Every year.

Mrs. Martina Egwuibe, urged students at all level to embrace reading habits to enhance their communication skills.
In her welcome address, Mrs. Buba Zainab, a teacher at Betty Queen International School, said reading undoubtedly plays a pivotal role in shaping young minds and building a solid foundation for students future.

She noted that “World Read Aloud Day” is an opportunity to appreciate the beauty of literature and its power to unite people from all walks of life.
According to her “Research shows that children who are Read Aloud regularly have better communication skills, enhance compression abilities and increase academic success “
“Through read-Aloud sessions, we provide a safe space for children to explore complex emotions, develop empathy and gain a deeper understanding of the world around them”
” Read Aloud sessions have an unequivocal impact on language acquisition, when children hear words pronounced correctly and used in context, their vocabulary expand significantly ” she said.
Also Speaking, the Executive Director Betty Queen International School, Mrs.B. I Oyeshola, called on the people to embrace the joy of reading books as an essential part of personal growth of education and entertainment.
She said, Betty Queen International School is committed to cultivating love for books and promoting literacy in the community.
He explained that books served as a window to different cultures, perspectives and experiences, fostering empathy and tolerance.
She therefore thanked the National Library Kaduna branch on its efforts toward uplifting Education.
