The Sarkin  Auchan of Ikara Local Government Area Kaduna State, Barr. Hassan Lawal has called on all parents in his domain to always support and mobilize children towards accepting vaccinations against child killer diseases especially during Polio Immunization exercises.
The traditional Leader was speaking during an open theatre performance organized by an NGO known as Journalists Initiative against Polio JAP, for children of the vaccination age in the Area.
He said a healthy society is the most productive society that can stand against all difficult situations and overcome them stressing that immunization is one measure which has been identified by experts as solutions to many sicknesses bedeviling the people.
Barr. Hassan Lawal commended the Federal and state governments for giving Nigeria the opportunity to benefit from the global initiative of children vaccination against Polio virus and other child killer diseases.
According to him, JAP deserved an award of excellence for promoting and educating children against the Polio virus saying that the initiative has saved many children and also parents against falling pray of some infectious and contagious diseases.
In a remark, the coordinator of JAP, Mallam Lawal Dogara pledged to continue with the enlightenment programmes which the organization had been known for.
Mallam Dogara said the organization over the years had been collaborating with the World Health Organization and the State Primary Healthcare Board for the success of all its programmes.
