Kano Local Government Commissioner Charges DPMs on Due Process, Proper Records Keeping

Kano State Deputy Governor and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo has called on the Directors of Personel Management (DPMs) across 44 Local Government to ensure due process and proper records keeping in all financial transaction .

The Deputy Governor made the call during a meeting with the newly appointed Interim Management Officers (IMOs) who are also the Directors of Personel Management (DPMs) in their respective Local Governments at the ministry’s conference hall.

The commissioner pointed out that their appointment was based on merit and confidence by the government, therefore they should justify the confidence repose in them and abide the civil service guidelines to cement government effort in this direction.

Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo also drew the attention of the Interim Management Officers to be security concious in their arears due to immigrants trooping from neighbouring states and countries.

He therefore called on all stakeholders on security to joint hands with local governments leaders to tackle the security issues and sensitise the communities to be extra vigilant and report any new faces to local government and security agencies of the area.

During the meeting, IMOs were directed to forward a comprehensive report on Land and Government properties to the mininistry for Local Government headquarters, as well as to liase with departments of Community, Works, and WESH to initiate clearance of culvates and drainages with a view to avoid the occurrence of flood as the rainy season is about to cease.
