Kano Chapter of NULGE Elects New Officials

Kano State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has elected 13-member new executive to run the affairs of the Union for the next four years.

Those elected unopposed include; Ibrahim Muhammad as President, Muntaka Sani as Deputy President, Abdullahi Yusuf, Treasurer, Hassana Ammani, Chairperson, Ali Hassan Tudun Bayero, State Trustee, and Umar Muhammad Kabara, State Trustee.

Others are Aminu Tsoho Rogo, Auditor, Abdullahi Chidari, Auditor, Abba Ahmad Sharif, Welfare Officer, Kabiru Muhammad Inuwa, Welfare Officer, Nazifi Lawan, Welfare Officer, Saidu Muhammad Idris, State Publicity Secretary, and Jamilu Ibrahim Gwale as Young Worker.

Addressing the new executives after their inauguration, the Deputy Governor and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo congratulated the new executives, tasked them to be just and carry all members along in the Union’s activities.

Comrade Aminu Gwarzo called on those elected to initiate programmes that will aid the local government service transformation of the present administration under governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

As the engine room of implementing government policies and programmes, the Deputy Governor enjoined the local government workers to be dedicative and committed to their official duties for speedy development especially of the rural areas.

The Commissioner spoke at length on the present government commitments towards improving the welfare of Civil Servants in the state in the areas of prompt payment of salaries & allowances, training and re-training among others.

In his acceptance Speech, the new President, Comrade Ibrahim Muhammad thanked members of the union in the State for electing him and other member executive members pledging to work hard in justifying the confidence repose in them.

The National President of NULGE, Comrade Ambali Akeem Olatunji appreciated members of NULGE in Kano for following democratic procedure to elect their leaders without rancor or crisis.

In his Valedictory message, the out-going State NULGE President, Comrade Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo applauded members of the union for their support to the out-going executives, prayed for the extension of support to the in-coming executives.
