The Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN), Kaduna Chapter has organized a quiz competition for science schools in Kaduna State.
The 2nd quiz competition held on Tuesday at the Federal Secretariat Conference Hall, in memory of Late Engr. (Mrs.) Funmilola Kikelomo Ojelade, (FNSE).

In her Welcomed Address APWEN Kaduna Chapter Chairman Engr. Bilkisu Danjuma, said the quiz competition was aimed at inspiring the next generation of innovators, scientists, and engineers.
She encouraged the students to remain passionate about STEM and pursue careers in engineering.
“Today is not just about science and competition; it is about legacy, excellence, and inspiring the next generation of innovators, scientists, and engineers. We gather to celebrate the life and ideals of a woman who believed strongly in digital transformation, girl-child empowerment, and the power of education to shape lives”

According to her “The 2nd Memorial Science Quiz Competition, Kaduna Edition, organized by the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN), Kaduna Chapter, in loving memory of one of our finest and most visionary leaders — the Late Engr. (Mrs.) Funmilola Kikelomo Ojelade, FNSE, fondly known as the Digital President.
“We are excited to host all the brilliant schools competing under the theme: “Who Wants to Be an Engineer?” This theme reflects our mission to spark curiosity, promote critical thinking, and encourage STEM careers among young students, especially girls”
” We deeply appreciate the support of our guests, partners, school administrators, and volunteers who have made today possible. To our contestants, we urge you to give your best, not just for the prize, but for the pride of knowledge and growth* she stated.
A total of twelve (12) secondary schools from across Kaduna participated in the competition. The participating schools.
NDA Staff School, Kaduna emerges as winner while Command Secondary School, NDA emerged second position.
In her remarks, Engr. Rachel Ugye, NSE Vice Chairman North Central, encouraged students to remain focused and determined. She highlighted the achievements of leading female engineers such as Engr. Margaret Oguntala, the current NSE National President, as shining examples of excellence in the engineering field.
All participating students received certificates of participation and exercise books each as token of appreciation.
The event was a remarkable success and a meaningful tribute to the enduring legacy of Late Engr. (Mrs.) Funmilayo Kikelomo Ojelade, FNSE.
