Like every relationship that seeks to thrive, trust and loyalty remain essential ingredients for success. In any society, these values are not only cherished but also respected and rewarded. It is therefore not surprising to witness the growing trust and affection continuously displayed toward His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Dr. Uba Sani, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State.
This trust and affection stem from the policies, decisions, and actions of His Excellency since he assumed office over two years ago. A cursory review of his performance clearly attests to this reality.
As preparations for the 2027 general elections gradually gather momentum, the political atmosphere in the country—and particularly in Kaduna State, given its strategic importance in the North—is steadily taking shape. Amid this evolving landscape, Governor Uba Sani continues to stand out as a leader who has earned the trust and loyalty of his people. He is widely regarded as a symbol of hope, competence, and transformative leadership.
His outstanding contributions to human capital development, community empowerment, and his unwavering commitment to the progress and welfare of the people of Kaduna State have been remarkable. These achievements mark him as an astute statesman whose leadership has positively impacted lives across the state.
Governor Uba Sani’s proven record of service within a short period, coupled with his visionary outlook, inclusive governance style, and people-centered approach, has endeared him to citizens from all walks of life. His Excellency has consistently demonstrated integrity, humility, and capacity in leadership—qualities that are increasingly evident in a time when Kaduna State demands a leader defined by competence, compassion, and courage, as a departure from the challenges of the recent past.
Indeed, His Excellency has become a breath of fresh air in the political landscape of Kaduna State.
The trust and loyalty enjoyed by Governor Uba Sani can further be traced to his strong belief in putting people first. He firmly holds that leadership must deliver dignity, opportunity, and empowerment. This philosophy explains why his policies deliberately target previously neglected segments of society, including rural dwellers, women, youths, civil servants, farmers, and small-scale entrepreneurs.
Furthermore, His Excellency has pursued balanced development across both urban and rural areas, ensuring that cities and villages alike feel the impact of good governance. Dozens of township and rural roads have either been completed or are currently under construction, unlocking trade routes, revitalizing communities, and breathing new life into rural economies. Remarkably, these infrastructural developments cut across all the 23 local government areas of Kaduna State.
In the health sector, over 200 primary healthcare centers have been upgraded, while several general hospitals have been revitalized. Notably, His Excellency completed and commissioned a 309-bed Specialist Hospital, a project that had lingered for over 16 years under successive administrations. Medical personnel welfare has also been enhanced, significantly improving healthcare delivery. As a result, many communities now enjoy easier access to quality healthcare services.
In addition, Governor Uba Sani launched the Kaduna State Emergency Medical Services and Ambulance System (KADSEMSAS) to ensure timely, life-saving emergency medical care. Under this initiative, patients receive free treatment for up to 48 hours during emergencies.
Education has remained a top priority under the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, consistently receiving the largest share of Kaduna State’s annual budget. His administration has taken bold and people-focused steps to strengthen the education sector, including a 40 percent reduction in tuition fees across all state-owned tertiary institutions and the approval of a long-awaited special salary structure for lecturers, resolving an issue that lingered for over 16 years.
Further demonstrating his commitment to teachers’ welfare, Governor Uba Sani approved the extension of the retirement age for teachers from 60 to 65 years and increased the years of service from 35 to 40 years, in line with the Harmonized Retirement Age for Teachers Act—making him the first Governor in Kaduna State to implement this landmark policy.
In addition, classrooms are being constructed and renovated, teachers are being retained, vocational and skills acquisition centers are being established, and state workers continue to benefit from the implementation of the National Minimum Wage. These reforms have restored hope, dignity, and motivation to educators while reinforcing public confidence in his promise-driven and people-centered leadership.
To ease transportation challenges faced by students, workers, service personnel, and the general public, His Excellency introduced a free transportation scheme. Since its inception, this initiative has conveyed close to two million passengers, providing much-needed relief during these difficult economic times and further reaffirming public trust in his leadership.
Governor Uba Sani’s administration is notably labour-friendly. Drawing from his background as a respected national human rights advocate, he sees labour as a partner in progress. Civil servants now view the government as their own rather than an adversary. They no longer live in fear of arbitrary dismissals that once loomed like the sword of Damocles.
Agriculture, the backbone of Kaduna State’s economy, has also witnessed significant revitalization. Improved security has enabled farmers to return to their farms, while government support through free fertilizers, irrigation equipment, subsidized inputs, insurance schemes, and mechanization initiatives has boosted productivity.
Beyond governance, His Excellency has emerged as a peace ambassador and bridge-builder between the state’s two major religions. Through sustained advocacy for peaceful coexistence, tolerance, and mutual respect, the distrust once exploited in the past is gradually giving way to harmony and understanding.
*CONCLUSION*
In conclusion, these notable achievements of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Dr. Uba Sani, clearly explain why the people of Kaduna State strongly believe they now have a leader they can trust and a government they can truly call their own.
