The APC Progressive Forum, Kaduna State Chapter, has commended the conduct of the just-concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections in the state, describing the exercise as peaceful, transparent, and a victory for democracy.
Addressing journalists during a press briefing, the group said the primaries were well-organised and conducted in secure locations across Kaduna State without violence, intimidation, or disruption.
According to the forum, the peaceful nature of the exercise distinguished Kaduna from some other states where party primaries reportedly witnessed crises and disagreements.
The group particularly praised the leadership of Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, for ensuring an inclusive and democratic process that allowed all interested aspirants to purchase nomination forms and freely contest for various positions.
The forum stated that while some states adopted consensus arrangements, Kaduna embraced what it described as “real democracy,” noting that Governor Uba Sani demonstrated fairness, openness, and equal opportunity throughout the exercise.
The APC Progressive Forum also commended Hon. Jerry Adams, Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Revenue Board, for what it called his strategic coordination and contributions toward maintaining peace during the primaries.
The group congratulated all victorious candidates that emerged from the exercise, with special recognition given to Sunday Marshall Katung and Dan Amos for their achievements in human capital and infrastructural development within their constituencies.
According to the forum, the victories recorded by the two lawmakers were well deserved because of their commitment to delivering democratic dividends to the people.
The forum further praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it described as his continued support and commitment to Kaduna State through strategic appointments and federal projects.
It cited appointments and projects such as the Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), the Rector of the Aviation Institute, the Chairman of the National Sports Council, the appointment of the Minister of Defence, as well as the establishment of the University of Applied Sciences in Kachia and the Federal Medical Centre in Kafanchan as evidence of the Federal Government’s attention to Kaduna State.
The APC Progressive Forum said the administrations of President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani had shown that focused leadership, patriotism, and commitment could accelerate development at both the state and national levels.
The group reaffirmed its loyalty to the APC leadership and pledged to mobilise support for the party ahead of the general elections.
“We will work tirelessly to ensure that every single vote in the general elections counts for our candidates and our party, InshaAllah,” the group stated.
The forum concluded by declaring that peace and democracy had prevailed in Kaduna State and expressed confidence that the APC would secure victory in future elections.
