More than 200 students have graduated from Y.G.Y Infotech Consultant Kaduna after successfully completing training in various fields of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), as stakeholders renewed calls for greater investment in digital skills development among young people.

The graduation ceremony, held in Kaduna, attracted government officials, educators, parents, and other stakeholders in the education sector, who emphasized the importance of technology-driven education in preparing youths for the demands of the modern world.

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, who was  representated by  Hon. Musa Mubama (Ikon Allah), reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to expanding access to computer and digital technology education across Kaduna State and Northern Nigeria.

He noted that a significant gap still exists in computer literacy among children and young people in the region, stressing that the government is implementing policies and programmes aimed at equipping youths with relevant technological skills from an early stage.

According to him, scientific and technological knowledge remains a key driver of economic growth and social development, adding that the government will continue to support initiatives that promote innovation, creativity, and digital learning.

In his remarks, the Director of Y.G.Y Infotech Consultant Kaduna, Malam Mu’azu Haruna, said the institution was established to provide affordable technology education for young people, particularly those from less privileged backgrounds.

He explained that the training centre has equipped hundreds of youths with practical ICT skills that can enhance their employability and encourage self-reliance, while also contributing to the region’s economic development.

Haruna further stated that the institution plans to expand its operations to other parts of Northern Nigeria in order to reach more young people with digital and technological education.

Some of the graduating students expressed appreciation for the knowledge and skills they acquired during the programme, describing the training as a valuable opportunity that has broadened their career prospects and entrepreneurial potential.

Participants at the event called on governments, private organizations, and development partners to invest more resources in technology education to enable Nigerian youths compete effectively in the global digital economy.
