The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Kaduna state Branch, has maintained that engineering remains the most critical drivers of national development.

The Society argued that every modern society depends on engineering for its infrastructure, industrialization and technological advancement.

Engr. Arege Samson Bawa, the Chairman of NSE, Kaduna Branch disclosed this in Kaduna at the weekend during the monthly general meeting of the Society.

He emphasized that engineers are always behind the scenes transforming ideas into practical solutions that improve lives and strengthen economies.

Bawa further said that, as Nigeria strives to diversify its economy and expand its industrial base, the role of engineers becomes even more important.

This was just as he also disclosed that the nation’s quest for sustainable development, increased local manufacturing, job creation, energy security, and technological self-reliance cannot be achieved without a strong engineering workforce equipped with the knowledge and skills to innovate and solve complex challenges.

“As a professional body, the Nigerian Society of Engineers remains committed to advancing engineering knowledge, promoting professional excellence, and supporting policies that encourage technological development and indigenous capacity building,” Bawa said.

At the monthly meeting, in his paper presentation titled “Demonstration of Electric Motor Starter in Industries and Modification.”, Engr. Ismail Yusuf Adubazi explained that electric motors are components that are fundamental to industrial productivity.

Adubazi emphasized that electric motors power the machines that drive factories, water treatment plants, agricultural processing facilities, mining operations, and numerous industrial processes.

While speaking, he further disclosed that the two major types of Electric Motor Starters in industries are Direct-On-Line Starter and Star/Delta Starter.
