A Kaduna based political analyst and public policy experts, Alhaji Umar Iya Katukan Gulak, has asked the federal government to create a ministry of livestock development that will see to the full implementation of the national livestock transformation plan
According to him the move will enhance the security and general welfare of pastoralist communities in the country.
He stated this in an interview with newsmen in Kaduna, said the implementation will help to address farmer-herder clashes in Nigeria which has a very long history.
He also suggested that if federal government create ministry of livestock will address the lingering violence in Nigeria’s livestock farming business.
Umar Iya, a Chieftain of All Progressive Congrass ( APC) faulted the “continuous” profiling of Fulani pastoralists as criminals, adding that Fulani pastoralists are enjoying all the devident of democracy at all level
Umar Iya, a traditional title holder of Katukan Gulak, told President Bola Ahmed Tunubu to step up efforts by his administration to end the sufferings of Nigerians, saying if proper measures not taken APC will face a difficult challenges in 2017 general election.
