….As Kaduna Govt. Allocates 157 Hectares Of Land For Mass Housing

The managing Director/ Chief Executive officer Federal Housing Authority ( FHA) ,Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, says the federal government will build 500 houses in Kaduna to address the housing deficit in the country.

Hon. Oyetunde Ojo , stated this in Kaduna at a 3- day retreat for FHA staff , with Theme : Enhancing the federal Housing Authority for improved Housing Solutions in the Era of Renewed hope.

He also commended the Kaduna State governor Senator Uba Sani for allocating 157 hectares of Land free of charge to FHA.
“Permit me to express my delight and excitement at the humility and wonderful reception we have received from the executive governor of Kaduna state senator Uba Sani from the first day we made contact with him . Let me also put it on record that your magnanimity in allocating 157 hectares of Land free of charge to us opened the flood gate of goodwill the Authority has been reviewing since we started our consultation visit to states in the country”
“Not only did you give us the Land free, you also undertook to take care of the compensation, partner with us in the provision of off-takers and provide other necessary assistance we may need” he said.
According to him the project would be executed in phases, adding that it would commence before the end of the year.
He said the government initiated the project to ensure priority is placed on the welfare of the people.
Declaring the retreat opened , Kaduna state deputy governor Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, I said housing is fundamental to the preservation of human dignity and that access to safe, affordable and secure housing is the foundation of human dignity. Regrettably a large proportion of Nigerians are either homeless or lack decent accommodation.
According to her, fashioning effective strategies to address housing deficits at the federal and state levels has therefore become an urgent and strategic imperative.
The deputy governor stressed that provision of affordable houses for Kaduna State citizens is a key priority for the administration of Senator Uba Sani.
She reitrates state government committed towards addressing housing deficit in Kaduna State in line with our administration’s policy thrust and President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
She said the state government has adopted a holistic approach towards filling the identified gap. Our approaches include (i) Partnering with local and international investors (ii) The Social Housing Scheme (iii) Development Lease Agreement (iv) Public Housing Corporation, and (v) Site and Services.
