In a continued effort to strengthen grassroots mobilization and expand its structure across Kaduna State, the Capacity Movement has inaugurated its new executive members for Igabi Local Government Area.
The inauguration ceremony, held at the Kaduna international trade fair, brought together top officials of the national and state chapters of the organization, as well as representatives from various local government branches.
Speaking during the event, the National Coordinator of Capacity Movement, Comrade Yerima Shettima, emphasized that the inauguration marked another milestone in the group’s commitment to empowering citizens and fostering participatory governance. He described the Igabi inauguration as a key step toward consolidating the organization’s presence across the state, stressing that the movement remains focused on promoting capacity building, leadership development, and civic engagement at all levels.
“Our vision is to raise a generation of young, active, and responsible citizens who will not only participate in governance but also champion social and economic development in their communities,” Shettima said.
He charged the newly inaugurated executives to demonstrate integrity, dedication, and teamwork in discharging their responsibilities. “Leadership is about service, not privilege. You must work selflessly for the progress of the people and uphold the ideals of the movement,” he added.
In his remarks, the Kaduna State Coordinator of Capacity Movement, Comrade Aliyu Mohammed, commended the enthusiasm and unity displayed by members in Igabi Local Government, noting that such commitment reflects the readiness of the people to support the movement’s broader objectives across the state.
He also urged members to intensify public enlightenment on good governance, youth empowerment, and social reorientation, which are central to the organization’s mission.
The newly inaugurated Igabi Local Government Chairman, Comrade Yusuf Abdullahi, expressed gratitude to the national and state leadership for the confidence reposed in them. He pledged to work tirelessly to expand membership, ensure inclusivity, and mobilize support for the movement’s programs and initiatives.
The inauguration ceremony featured goodwill messages from community leaders, youth groups, and civil society representatives, all of whom lauded the initiative for fostering unity and progress among young people in Kaduna State.
With this inauguration, Capacity Movement continues its state-wide campaign to build a network of dedicated grassroots leaders who will drive social transformation, accountability, and positive change in Nigeria.
