INEC Commends Kaduna IPAC Elections, As YPP Candidate Emergences Chair

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has commended the electoral process which produced the Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate, Mikailu Abubakar as the Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, (IPAC) in Kaduna on Thursday.

In a landslide victory, Abubakar polled 11 votes out of 19 votes to return elected as the Chairman of Kaduna state Branch of IPAC, while Musa Muhammed of AAC emerged as the state Secretary.

In his remarks shortly after the election, the Head of Department, Electoral Operations of INEC, Mohammed Ismail, described the process that produced the newly elected excos of IPAC credible and transparent.

Ismail added: ” What I have seen here today was orderly and highly mature. I expected to see disorderliness, but that, I did not see, because hardly you see elections without rejection, objection and so on. This has been a very good process.

“On this note, I would like to commend the Electoral Committee of IPAC for the good job.”

He urged the newly elected leadership of Kaduna IPAC to ensure that they discharge their duty according to the rules and regulations of IPAC.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman, Muka’il Abubakar promised purposeful leadership, while also assuring members of IPAC of transparency and accountability.

” This mandates is for all of us. I will never betray the trust that you have given me today, by the special grace of Almighty God,” Abubakar said.

The Electoral Committee Chairman, Bashir Bala congratulated the new leadership, urging them to abide and uphold the rules and regulations of IPAC.

Other elected excos are: Solomon Ayock of ADP, as Deputy Chairman, Fatima Sani of PDP, as Deputy Secretary, Jemilu Muhammed of accord party, as Financial Secretary, Hassan Saleh of APP, as Treasurer.

While Aisha Umar Faruq of BOOT party was elected as the Organizing Secretary, Yusuf Shuaibu of PRP emerged as the Public Relations Officer, and Hassan Subaru of NNPP became the Legal of IPAC.
