The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has distanced itself from what stakeholders described as factional elections of the Inte- Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Kaduna state.

The Commission debunked supervising two elections for the Kaduna state Chapter of IPAC, describing any other elections contrary to the one conducted by the IPAC National Electoral Committee at the INEC Auditorium in Kaduna, and being supervised by the INEC as null and void.

Recalled that the Commission had on Thursday supervised the IPAC election that produced the candidate of Young Progressive Party (YPP),
Mikailu Abubakar as the Chairman of the IPAC in Kaduna state.

On the contrary, some few individuals also conducted an election in the name of IPAC in Kaduna state without any INEC official in attendance, describing one Ahmed Tijjani Mustapha as the IPAC Chairman.

Meanwhile, the Head of Department, Electoral Operations of INEC, Mohammed Ismail, while upholding the election that produced the YPP candidate, explained that the Commission only supervised one election for IPAC, adding that any other election conducted was not known to them.

Ismail told our reporter on Tuesday that: “the election that we supervised is the one we know,” he emphasized.

The Head of Electoral Operations had earlier maintained in his remarks shortly after the election at the INEC Headquarters in Kaduna on Thursday that the process that produced
Mikailu Abubakar’s led-excos of IPAC credible and transparent.
